Review/Notes: We selected this to accompany our Valentine’s Day dinner consisting of New York Strip seared medium rare served with bleu cheese and garlic compound butter, with steamed green beans and garlic mashed potatoes. I was hoping for something a bit more full-bodied and smooth. Perhaps we didn’t give it ample time to open up before serving it, perhaps it wasn’t quite up to all of that garlic? Subsequent glasses enjoyed after dinner were a better experience. The wine smoothed out some, though still retaining an edge of bite.

Though we didn’t completely enjoy this bottle it is still a great value at under $10 for a bottle of Bordeaux. The larger merlot content probably doesn’t play to our strong suit as we tend to shy away from that variety.
