Review/Notes: We were trying to pay homage to a section of a Damien Rice concert where he essentially downs an entire bottle of wine in the span of 5 minutes while recounting the story of writing the song ‘Cheers Darling’. That approach probably did not reflect the finer points of this bottle. It did show us that Damien Rice is properly Irish and much better at drinking wine quickly than we are.

When we slowed down after almost slamming one (small) glass and stopped to drink the wine more appropriately. It is rather smooth and unimpressive with a little taste in the back of your mouth on its way down. The label indicates it can be enjoyed with ribs, steak, pizza, and dark chocolate, but not apparently very quickly with a smallish Irishman. I’m not sure we would buy this one again, with so many great cheap wines out there, this didn’t really hit the spot for us.
