I’m pretty sure this wine came from World Market on one of our wine buying sprees. Might have been the day we bought a couch…the trips to World Market run together so.
We haven’t been drinking much lately, a combination of my running schedule and a general desire to weigh less have motivated us to cut down on the booooze.
Tonight was a nice relaxing evening of culinary endeavors so I opted for this bottle, which seemed a bit more serious and robust compared to the bottle of red blend with a reindeer on it.
And robust it was, at first taste it was right there in your face, though where else would it be I suppose. It’s got a lot of body to it without a boatload of fruitiness. I like this wine a great deal. The color of it is dark and rich and sparkling in the mixed light of the dining room on the grounds of our stately manor house.
I went off script a bit just then. Back to the wine, what else can you say that hasn’t already been said? Just cliches anymore at this point. You should buy some of it though. This Joel Gott fellow knows what’s up in Zinfandel craftsmanship.
